River banks, canals & marshes - Jajira,Bangladesh
Seen in between evening and late night hours, tennis ball-sized reddish fire balls seem to light up for a second or two and then get extinguished, those which seem to remain attached upon soccer ball-sized heads of 3-feet high floating apparitions. The figures, locally called 'ALEYA-DAANO' (Fire devil) roam along wetland banks, in search of live fish, as believed by villagers. These apparitions / fire balls are usually harmless and are regarded by people as part of natural rural setting.
