Grove Cemetery - Troy,Ohio

Grove Cemetery is one of the oldest and most haunted cemeteries in Troy, Ohio. It was established in 1807 by John Knisley, a pioneer who donated the land for the burial ground. It has over 10,000 graves, some dating back to the Revolutionary War, when Troy was a frontier town. Many visitors have reported seeing apparitions, hearing voices, feeling cold spots, and experiencing other paranormal phenomena. Some of the most haunted areas of the cemetery are the Potter's Field, where unclaimed bodies were buried in mass graves without markers; the Civil War section, where soldiers who died in battle or from disease were laid to rest with simple headstones; and the Children's section, where many young lives were cut short by epidemics or accidents. Some of the most notorious spirits that haunt Grove Cemetery are the Lady in White, who wanders the grounds looking for her lost lover, who was killed in a duel; the Phantom Horseman, who rides a black horse through the cemetery at night, carrying a lantern and a sword; and the Screaming Woman, who lets out a blood-curdling scream near the entrance gate, startling anyone who passes by. Grove Cemetery is a place of history and mystery, where the dead do not rest in peace.
