Central State Hospital - Milledgeville, Georgia

The original name of this creepy-ass place -- Georgia State Lunatic, Idiot, and Epileptic Asylum -- sounds like it should, by rights, be full of people today, especially Georgia State fans who think the football team’s just gonna start magically winning whenever they get an actual stadium. From the front, it looks like the kinda place where you don’t get out with a clean bill of mental health, and outside a symbolic graveyard represents the 25k+ patients found to be buried throughout the grounds in unmarked graves. Ironically, you’d have to be crazy to check this place out.

Atlanta Prison Farm—Key Rd SE, Atlanta

Of course it’s generally a bad idea to hang around a prison whether it’s open or closed, but this one is so historically dense that you almost feel drawn to at least take a tour of the grounds just to see some incredible graffiti. Not that we’re advising that, since you’d technically be trespassing on City of Atlanta property, or you know, just in danger of being killed/robbed/something worse by randos while stumbling through the toxic, shady, dangerous buildings.

Pullman Yard—Rogers St NE, Atlanta, GA

It seems like Kirkwood’s historic 25-acre former rail facility, which has been closed since the 1950s but has also been a backdrop filming location for The Hunger Games and Fast Five, as well as the location of more than a few wild, secret parties will be turned into something else soon. The state owns it today, and they let the public inside for a day last month, but everybody in ATL knows at least one person who’s illegally deejayed or tended bar there in the last 10 years.

A HAUNTED PAINTING

I heard this story from mom. This story’s about her aunt who encountered a spirit while painting a scenery. Strange but true sometimes things like dolls, paintings, jewelries, etc becomes haunted objects. Anyways let’s move towards the story.

It was in the year 1980 my mom’s aunt bought a painting from Darjeeling. She hired a painter to draw a similar one. But the painter died in an accident. After that she hired another painter for the same job. The very next day the painter returned the painting to my mom’s aunt and he narrated the incident that happened to him.

It was 7’o clock in the evening the painter visited my mom’s aunt with the painting in his hand and on asking the reason behind the refusal he said that he encountered a spirit that prevented him from completing the painting. He said that it was 11’o clock last night when he started painting of the scenery and every time while putting the paint brush on the canvas he felt a hand tightly holding his wrist. He first took it as a false notion and went outside for a fag. But after returning also he felt the same thing. He said that he clearly saw a shadow of a man with long hairs. He got scared and stopped painting.

My mom’s aunt took it as a nuisance. She gave the job to two others and they also returned it back to her as they also faced the similar incident even during daytime. Now what happened next was a big shock to my mom’s aunt. She encountered the spirit when she made an attempt out of curiosity one night. She exactly felt the same thing like the other three painters and also saw the shadow. After seeing the shadow she was sure that it was the spirit of the first painter who died in an accident as he had long hairs.

She fell ill after that incident. Doctors were unable to cure her. Finally my mom’s uncle visited a person who’s an expert in such activities and he helped her in getting cured. After recovering she said that when the first painter was given the job he appreciated the painting and happily said that he would’ve never let any other painter do the job. So it was obvious that his spirit prevented other painters from completing the task.
