In Williamsburg Kentucky there is a wooden railroad bridge at the foot of the University of Cumberlands College that crosses over to Fifth Street and Maple Street near the First Methodist Church. Usually right before a train crosses under the bridge you can hear and see all kinds of strange sights and sounds. Local folks say that it is the spirits of the dead who have lost their lives on the railroad tracks near there. Local folk lore tells that many years ago a young child was hit by a train. Ever since this mischievous spirit roams the tracks trying to distract others from noticing the oncoming trains. Several adults and children have lost their lives near this bridge…, distracted by the mischievous spirits of the dead.
