Puget Sound Mental Hospital - Tacoma,Washington

The Puget Sound Mental Hospital, is an enormous facility for the mentally disturbed (is also a drug and alcohol rehab). Parts of this 8-story complex are no longer in use. Half of the facility lies in darkness and is used for storage or is closed off because it is "unsafe". All of the buildings of this facility are highly haunted. Most of the staff there are willing to tell you the tales of the many ghostly personalities that reside there. The most famous is that of an old woman and her walker that can be seen and heard going up and down the hallways of the 4th floor. As you walk down the hallways and through the stairwells, you can feel that the place is very much alive with activity. This place is a real facility so you will need permission to run equipment, and or just tour the campus.

I Have a very true story about a stay I had at that hospital..Back on 1993 My foot doctor had scheduled an appt for me to have a minor sergery on my left foot ..I was supposed to be out and ready to go home in a few hours afterwards.. complication sit in and my doctor decided to keep me overnight because of the bleeding and put me on a morphine trip on another floor.. believe it or not I was slept in a day room on the 4th floor and they forgot about me being there.. I work sometime in the a.m. around 2:00 and was in very much pain I didn't know where I was all I saw was darkness I couldn't remember where or what happened I fell down to the floor and I was in so much pain I really thought I was in hell I was screaming for help I heard a sound of something scraping on on the floor but it wasn't too close that's when I saw a door open slightly and saw a older nurse with a white uniform on pointing at my leg she never looked me in the eyes but had her finger pointing all the time at the legs I had in operation on now she backed out of the room I saw a light in the distance I was very confused so was told and remembered that whenever you think you're in trouble follow that light so I stood it on my elbow it seemed like a chip forever to get closer to this light when I got closer I found out it was the light on the elevator and then I started remembering what had happened did I have notation I didn't feel like it the doctor I started yelling for help it seemed like it took about 45 minutes until finally if you had ever came from upstairs in the stairwell and turn on some lights that I was laying here cuz no one was supposed to be on that floor he called for the doctors and nurses to get you on that floor right away because I left you travel blood about a foot fit for being like two blocks when the doctors and nurses got there it could be in the room that should be upstairs to the third floor like I was supposed to be put there and put on a morphineb drip I found out that they had forgot about me and close the door and left me in this room I was confused but I talked to the nurses and asked one of them to thank the nurse that opened the door so I can get out of there because I was going crazy she asked what nurse and I told her of an older nurse with a white uniform on that pointed at my leg and my foot to show me that I was bleeding I believe she was astounded she said to keep that thought and went and got other nurses and doctors and I told them of this nurse they were all amazed and they talk too much to each other till I found out that it was a lady nurse named Melba that had been running there for years in amazement I believe she saved my life from leaning to death cause if it wasn't for her I would have never got out that room cuz I didn't know where or what I was into my doctor was very mad because they forgot about me yes lawsuits could have been but at the time I was more worried about what was going to happen with me and my and my foot besides that I've heard that there was so many losses going on with that hospital that it would probably be impossible to get the trial in this century when I told the story to a few I was asked to be on a show about spirits and ghosts but I never made it due to the fact that I had moved down to California and never replied back but when I was still in Tacoma I would take a rose and I would leave it on the bottom of on the outside bottom and look at the fourth floor and think Mabel for saving my life I did this several times but tears in my eyes I knew that's what happened I do believe she helped me out of that room and there's no doubt that I will always remember her for this this is a true story and I didn't even realize that there was so many people that have seen her that I never really talked about her that much but I'm glad she came to me thank you Mabel with much love
